Pokimane agrees with Myth’s decision to switch to YouTube, calling it a wise move for the former Twitch star

Twitch Star Pokimane Reacts to Myth’s Move to YouTube

Imane “Pokimane” Anys recently shared her thoughts on fellow streamer Ali “Myth” Kabbani’s surprising move to YouTube. While she was initially surprised, she believes it was the right decision for him.

Myth announced his move to YouTube on July 11 and streamed his first session the following day. According to him, the financial offer from YouTube was too good to refuse. However, Pokimane sees another major benefit in this move.

Understanding Myth’s Decision

Pokimane stated, “I didn’t expect Myth to choose YouTube initially. However, I feel like he has been enjoying streaming less and less with time, or maybe he’s just not as fond of the streaming lifestyle anymore.”

This sentiment is supported by the statistics. In 2022, Myth streamed on Twitch for only 829 hours, a significant drop from the 2000+ hours he maintained annually between 2017 and 2020. Pokimane can relate to this struggle, and she believes that Myth’s move to YouTube will relieve the pressure and give him more breathing room.

Positive Reception and Future Potential

Pokimane added, “I think it makes sense for him to make a deal like that. I believe he is happy with the reception he has received on YouTube, and that’s great.” With a significant subscriber base of 4.5 million already on his channel, Myth is in an excellent position to thrive on YouTube.

Joining YouTube’s Prominent Streamers

Myth is one of several streamers who have made the switch to YouTube in 2022, including Sykkuno and Lily “LilyPichu” Ki. According to Disguised Toast, five more people are also planning to make the move. YouTube already boasts prominent names like Dr Disrespect, Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo, Timothy “TimTheTatMan” Betar, and Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter, solidifying its position as Twitch’s main competitor.

At the end of his first stream, Myth confidently declared his allegiance to YouTube, stating, “I don’t care what anybody says. I’m here, ready, and I’m feeling good about the future.”
