Elden Ring dominates Twitch viewership in debut week

Elden Ring Dominates Twitch with Record-Breaking Viewership

The highly-anticipated Dark Souls sequel, Elden Ring, has taken the gaming world by storm. In just one week, it has become the most-watched game on Twitch, surpassing even Just Chatting.

According to stats from SullyGnome, Elden Ring has accumulated a staggering 74.58 million hours watched in the past seven days. This is more than double the viewership of any other game, proving its immense popularity.

While Elden Ring is primarily a PvE RPG, its expansive open world has captivated players and content creators alike. Its extensive content has provided a gold mine for streamers and video makers.

Unsurprisingly, xQc, the top content creator on Twitch, leads the pack in Elden Ring viewership. With 41 hours of gameplay in the first week, he attracted over three million hours of viewership. His streams averaged at 74,104 viewers, peaking at more than 96,000.

Other top streamers achieved their high Elden Ring viewership through either exceptionally long airtime or impressive viewer averages. Streamers like Stylishnoob4, Hanryang1125, and Sardoche streamed for over 80 hours, while others surpassed 70 hours. These numbers are not uncommon for content creators during major game releases.

Channels like Asmongold and Fextralife garnered over one million hours of viewership with more typical airtime ranges of 20 to 35 hours. Asmongold, with just 21 hours streamed, had an average viewership of nearly 58,000, second only to xQc.

While the viewership of Elden Ring has gradually declined since its release, its initial dominance on Twitch within seven days is still a remarkable feat.

Although it’s unlikely for Elden Ring to sustain this level of viewership, its ability to captivate the gaming industry and attract mass attention speaks volumes about its popularity and success.
