Arteezy joins Abed and MidOne as third player with 10k MMR.

Arteezy Becomes Third Player in the World to Reach 10k MMR

Team Evil Geniuses’ hard carry player, Artour “Arteezy” Babaev, has achieved a major milestone in the world of Dota 2. He has become the third player in the world to surpass the 10,000 matchmaking rating (MMR) barrier, joining an elite group of players.

Arteezy’s Mechanical Skill Sets Him Apart

Known for his exceptional mechanical skills in both the hard carry and midlaner roles, Arteezy has long been considered one of the game’s most gifted players. Prior to reaching 10k MMR, he was the second player in the world to achieve 9k MMR, following the footsteps of Dota 2 Major champion Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi.

From Stand-in to Stardom

Arteezy rose to prominence as a stand-in for Speed Gaming International, later known as Cloud 9, during MLG Columbus in 2013. His success continued when he joined forces with Peter “ppd” Dager and the rest of the team SADBOYS, winning the ESP Shock Therapy Cup in 2014.

Afterward, Arteezy joined Evil Geniuses, where he has made significant strides towards cementing his status as one of the greatest players of all time. Despite multiple victories and top 3 finishes in premier tournaments, he fell short at The International 4 (TI4).

An Eventful Journey

Arteezy then switched to Team Secret in 2015, pairing up with EG teammate Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg and legendary captain Clement “Puppey” Ivanov. This roster dominated the Dota scene leading up to TI5, but Arteezy once again missed out on claiming an International title.

He later returned to Evil Geniuses after brief stints with Secret and EG, and achieved several victories including MDL 2016, China Top 2016, Dota Pit League Season 5, and the inaugural edition of the Manila Masters.

Can Arteezy Overcome the Curse?

Unfortunately, Arteezy and his team find themselves facing elimination in The International 7 (TI7) after losing to Newbee in the upper bracket. Will Arteezy be able to break his curse and finally claim victory at a Dota 2 Valve event?
