Shroud on Streaming: ‘It’s Not Work, It’s a Complete Joke’

Shroud Denies Possibility of Returning to Professional Esports

While watching VALORANT Champions Berlin today, popular streamer and former CS:GO pro Shroud was asked if he would consider returning to professional play.

Shroud quickly denied any possibility, stating that he doesn’t enjoy work. He prefers streaming because it doesn’t require much effort. “Working sucks. So if there’s anything that requires some work and some effort, I’m probably not going to do it,” the Canadian streamer explained.

Streaming is Not Work, Says Shroud

Shroud dismissed the notion that streaming is work. According to him, it’s more of a joke. “Look, I’m sitting here doing nothing. I’m literally doing nothing,” the FPS star emphasized.

He also downplayed the work involved in his auxiliary operations, such as his merchandise line. Shroud mentioned that it was not a lot of work for him, as he just had to approve or reject mock-ups. “That’s not really a lot of work,” he stated.

Shroud’s Career and Reluctance to Call it Work

Shroud was a CS:GO pro from 2013 to 2018 and achieved notable success with Cloud9. However, since retiring, he has dedicated his career to streaming and has partnered with various companies. Despite his achievements, Shroud seems reluctant to consider his professional player or streamer career as work.
