Kiryu Coco announces departure from Hololive

Kiryu Coco, Popular Dragon VTuber, Set to Leave Hololive

Kiryu Coco, the well-loved dragon VTuber from the Japanese agency Hololive, will be saying goodbye to the group on July 1.

The official announcement from Hololive revealed this news, expressing their sadness at Coco’s decision to leave. Despite this, the agency has chosen to honor her wishes.

Coco herself confirmed her departure and stated that she will continue her activities until July 1.

In an 11-minute video posted on her own channel, Coco mentioned that her decision involves private matters that she cannot discuss. She understands that this may be difficult to accept for her fans.

Coco is one of Hololive’s most popular streamers, currently boasting 1.18 million YouTube subscribers. With her fluency in both Japanese and English, she has cultivated a significant following in the Western audience, especially with content like reviewing memes submitted by Reddit members.

Coco has also played an instrumental role behind the scenes in advocating for English-focused VTubers. Her efforts have proven successful with the explosive popularity of the first English generation. As of now, every first-gen English VTuber has surpassed one million subscribers, with Gawr Gura leading the pack at an astounding 2.81 million subscribers.

Her final video will be a graduation stream scheduled for July 1 at 6am CT. Given Coco’s penchant for going all out, fans can expect a spectacular conclusion to the streaming career of the dragon kaichou, Kiryu Coco.
