CodeMiko on Twitch: ‘Feeling hurt because I perceive myself as seen as toxic’

CodeMiko Discusses Bans and Exclusion from Hivemind

VTuber and streamer CodeMiko, who recently returned to Twitch after a two-week ban, addressed her bans and revealed that she was not allowed to participate in Hivemind.

Concerns About Twitch’s Perception

When asked about her bans, CodeMiko expressed concern that Twitch perceives her as “toxic” based on their recent actions against her.

“I don’t see myself as a toxic creator,” Miko said. “I never try to cause drama. But I have been banned three times.”

Exclusion from Hivemind and Twitch-Sponsored Events

CodeMiko confirmed that Twitch mandated her removal from a future episode of Hivemind, as well as any other Twitch-sponsored events during her suspension.

This decision came as a disappointment to Miko, who expressed her hurt at being perceived as toxic by Twitch.

Details of the Bans

Miko went into more detail about each of her bans. The first ban was a one-day suspension for her 3D model’s outfit, which was deemed too revealing according to Twitch’s Terms of Service.

The second ban occurred due to a joke involving viewer donations, while the third ban resulted from displaying an email in an interview and violating Twitch’s privacy rules.

Appeals and Change

Miko appealed her 30-day ban, which was reduced to 14 days. However, if she faces a similar ban in the future, her channel may be permanently closed unless she appeals directly through a Twitch representative.

Miko acknowledged her faults, recognizing that she needs to be more careful and mindful of Twitch’s guidelines. She is determined to show that she is not trying to be toxic or controversial.

Twitch’s Platform and Moving Forward

Miko acknowledged that Twitch has a great platform and that no one is intentionally against her. However, she finds it scary to be banned for small mistakes, especially in such a short amount of time. She is committed to being more cautious about her content moving forward.

Clarification Regarding Hivemind Exclusion

In an update, it was clarified that CodeMiko was not banned from all future episodes of Hivemind, but rather just the one that fell within her 30-day freeze on Twitch-related shows. This aligns with Twitch’s guidelines on Suspension Evasion, which prohibits streamers from featuring or advertising suspended users on their platform.
