Donald Trump’s Twitch account suspended once again

Former U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s Twitch Channel Banned Again

Less than a year since its first suspension, Donald J. Trump’s Twitch channel has been banned once again, marking a permanent removal from the platform.

Twitch Takes Action

In response to the recent attack on the U.S. Capitol, Twitch initially suspended Trump’s channel indefinitely. However, the suspension has now escalated to an outright ban.

Social Media Ban

Following his controversial speech that incited a riot at the Capitol, Trump has faced bans from multiple social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and now, Twitch.

A History of Controversy

This is not the first time Trump’s Twitch channel has faced consequences. Previously, the channel received a two-week ban for “hateful conduct” relating to one of Trump’s rallies.

On his last day in office, Trump chose not to attend the inauguration ceremony of President Joseph R. Biden Jr.

Update: Jan. 20, 2021, 3:40pm CT: Although Twitch refers to the ban as an “indefinite suspension,” it is effectively a permanent ban from the platform.
