Shadowlands Set New Record as the Quickest-Selling PC Game in History

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Sets Record as Fastest-Selling PC Game

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands has made gaming history by becoming the fastest-selling PC game ever. According to Blizzard, the game has sold 3.7 million units in just one day, breaking the industry-wide record for the most popular PC game launch.

The previous record, which stood for eight years, was also held by another Blizzard title, Diablo III.

Since its launch two weeks ago, Shadowlands has seen a significant increase in player subscriptions, making it the most successful period in the history of World of Warcraft since the release of its third expansion, Cataclysm, ten years ago.

In addition to the surge in player numbers, total player time in the game has nearly doubled compared to the same period last year. This is a noteworthy achievement considering the backlash the previous expansion, Battle for Azeroth, received from the World of Warcraft community.

J. Allen Brack, president of Blizzard, expressed his excitement about the success of Shadowlands and the positive response from players. He also hinted at more exciting features and content to come in the future.

Shadowlands will continue to deliver more content today with the launch of season one, including a revamped PvP landscape, updates to the Mythic+ scene, and the introduction of the game’s newest raid, Castle Nathria.
