How to Level up Fast in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands

The Fastest Ways to Level Up in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands

The highly anticipated Shadowlands expansion for World of Warcraft has finally arrived. If you’re looking to level up quickly and bypass crowded areas, here are a few tips to help you reach the maximum level in the shortest amount of time.

During the Shadowlands prepatch, speed runners tested different routes to determine the fastest one. One of these runners is DesMephisto, a popular Warrior player known for collecting various weapon and armor appearances in WoW.

Earlier this month, DesMephisto became the first player to break the leveling records from level one to 50, completing it in less than four hours. After achieving this feat, he shared his route and a tested route from the Shadowlands open beta to help other players prepare for leveling when the expansion officially launched.

Leveling from 1 to 50

The starter zones and the Warlords of Draenor zones offer a high density of quests, making them the best options for speed leveling to level 50. The Warlords of Draenor expansion also includes bonus quests that quickly boost your level, making it the ideal choice during Chromie Time.

  • Levels 1 to 10: Starting zone
  • Levels 10 to 20: Silverpine Forest / Loch Modan
  • Levels 20 to 30: Hillsbrad Foothills
  • Levels 30 to 35: Warlords of Draenor intro questline
  • Levels 35 to 40: Warlords of Draenor garrison quests
  • Levels 40 to 45: Gorgrond
  • Levels 45 to 48: Talador
  • Levels 48 to 50: Gorgrond “Prove your Strength” quest alongside Spires of Arak

Leveling from 50 to 60

To quickly reach the maximum level in Shadowlands, focus on completing the campaigns of the four covenants.

  • Levels 50 to 53.5: Bastion campaign
  • Levels 53 to 55.5: Maldraxxus campaign
  • Levels 55.5 to 58: Ardenweald campaign
  • Levels 58 to 60: Revendreth campaign

Focus on the main story quests to receive the most experience and avoid side quests. Consider purchasing consumables like Gunshoes, Goblin Gliders, Bear Tartar, and other movement speed items to save time when traveling to quest givers or jumping off hills.

Another important aspect of speed leveling is turning on War mode to gain additional experience from quests and mob kills. However, if you find yourself encountering many opposing faction members, it may be beneficial to either switch zones or turn off War mode.
