Ninja aims to regain peak form through return to Twitch

Ninja Returns to Twitch, Ready to Work for the Top Spot

Ninja is back on Twitch, and even though he didn’t reach the same level of viewership as he did in 2018, he is determined to put in the hours and climb back to the top.

Before leaving Twitch for Mixer in 2019, Ninja was one of the platform’s top streamers, with more than double the hours watched compared to any other channel in 2018.

During his return stream, Ninja showed his streamaholic attitude with a 10-hour session that garnered nearly 700,000 hours watched, according to Twitch stat tracker SullyGnome.

Although his average viewership didn’t match that of Shroud or Dr Disrespect’s returns, Ninja’s debut stream had 67,811 viewers, showing potential sustainability that the other return streams may have lacked.

Ninja played a variety of games during his stream. He started with Just Chatting, then relaxed with some Fall Guys to interact with viewers. Next, he joined other content creators for an “After Dark” stream of Among Us while enjoying some Bud Light Seltzers. Finally, he wrapped up by playing VALORANT.

While his peak viewership came at the beginning of the stream with around 110,000 viewers, Ninja’s strongest average viewership was during his Fall Guys session, with 76,100 viewers in the afternoon.

During his five hours of Among Us gameplay, Ninja averaged 66,243 viewers, with a peak of 77,126. He played with several other content creators, including DrLupo and TimTheTatman, enhancing their broadcasts as well.

Ninja acknowledged that he’s not at the same level he once was, admitting it within the first 30 minutes of his stream. However, he expressed his determination to work hard and grind to regain his position.

“With more hours of airtime and new alerts and overlays, I hope to consistently attract a top audience on Twitch once again,” Ninja said.

While he didn’t explicitly state it, Ninja seemed unaffected by not receiving the half a million viewers that Shroud had when he returned to Twitch from Mixer just a month ago.

“There was almost no hype,” Ninja commented. “We didn’t have a lot of time to work with, and quite frankly, I just wanted to get back to streaming. We wanted to keep it simple.”

When Ninja moved to Mixer, his focus shifted away from streaming slightly. During his recent stream, he mentioned that his goal was to expand his brand and help Mixer grow. He wasn’t as focused on grinding out 60 hours of airtime a week like he was on Twitch before he left.

Although Ninja’s return stream didn’t receive the grand reception some might have expected, his dedication and work ethic were evident throughout. Ninja is here to grind once again and reclaim the top spot on Twitch.
