World of Warcraft Shadowlands to Introduce Mentor System for New Players

World of Warcraft Introduces Mentor System to Help New Players

In the upcoming expansion of World of Warcraft, veteran players will have the opportunity to become mentors for newcomers. This new mentor system includes a special chat where newcomers can seek guidance, as reported by WoW site Wowhead.

The mentor system is currently in beta testing. New players in WoW often encounter difficulties when trying to get answers to their questions. They are frequently met with toxic and sarcastic responses in the General or Looking For Group chats.

To become a mentor, players must meet specific criteria:

  • They need to have a level 60 character (the maximum level in Shadowlands after the level squish).
  • They must complete the Battle for Azeroth Pathfinder, Part One achievement.
  • Their account must be in good standing.

Details about how the system will function and whether there will be achievements or rewards for participation are not yet available.

World of Warcraft, with its vast number of veteran players, can make it challenging for newer players to find answers to even the simplest questions. The sarcastic responses they often receive can further confuse them. However, the introduction of the newcomer chat seems to be a positive step in assisting new players on their WoW journeys.

It’s worth noting that WoW is not the first game to implement such a system. Final Fantasy XIV has had a similar system in place for some time, promoting positive interactions and support for newcomers within their community.
