Slasher remains tight-lipped on Dr Disrespect’s Twitch ban reasons

Dr Disrespect’s Ban from Twitch: What We Know So Far

Ever since popular livestreamer Dr Disrespect was unexpectedly banned from Twitch in June, gamers everywhere have been desperate for information about the reason behind the ban. However, esports insider Rod “Slasher” Breslau, who claims to know the reason but hasn’t shared it, recently revealed that he wants a publication to protect him before disclosing the details.

Slasher explains, “I don’t want to personally announce it on Twitter. I need the support of a publication to provide me with legal protection in case of any consequences.” He also emphasizes that the fear of a defamation lawsuit is the main reason why the news hasn’t been shared on Twitter or any other platform. He further states that if the reason for the ban was a change in streaming platforms, he would have already disclosed that information.

According to Slasher, “I don’t need to see any official documents to know the details of the deal between Facebook and Mixer, or Ninja and CouRage with YouTube. I reported on those claims without any issues. But this situation is different.”

Despite the lack of official statements from both Twitch and Dr Disrespect, several rumors have emerged. One theory suggests that Dr Disrespect was lured to a new streaming platform called Brime, and that his attempt to leave his contract with Twitch led to his ban. However, many streamers and Slasher himself have dismissed this theory as completely false.

Twitch has yet to address Dr Disrespect’s future on the platform. In his only public statement since the ban, Dr Disrespect expressed that he had not been informed by Twitch about the specific reasons for his ban.
