Animals are finally making their way to GTA Online after a decade of anticipation

Animals Finally Added to GTA Online with New Update Coming in December

After a long 10-year wait, animals are finally being added to the world of GTA Online. Rockstar Games announced on Nov. 30 that the addition of wildlife will come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players in December, allowing players to enjoy a safari trip and search for wild creatures across Los Santos.

In the single-player mode of Grand Theft Auto 5, players have encountered various wild animals since the game’s launch in 2013. However, GTA Online was left out, until now.

In the past, players have had animals in GTA Online, but in a different way. Animals were playable characters when players interacted with the Peyote plants during special events.

Now, with the latest update to GTA Online in December, players on current-gen consoles will be able to find and interact with wildlife. Unfortunately, this update does not include PC players.

The fact that animals are coming to GTA Online in the same month as the first look at GTA 6 is released highlights how long players have been waiting for this feature. It also suggests that GTA 6 may have the same wildlife features at launch, although the exact details of the next release in the series and its impact on GTA Online are still unknown

There have been rumors that GTA 6 will feature Vice City as its setting. If that’s the case, GTA Online will likely visit Vice City as well, and players can hope to embark on a safari with wildlife from the very start of the game’s availability.
