Grand Theft Auto 6 could feature youngest character yet
According to a source from Rockstar Universe, Grand Theft Auto 6 may introduce the youngest character in the franchise’s history, a significant departure from Rockstar Games’ previous no-child policy.
A first for the franchise
The speculated child character is believed to be the offspring of Lucia, the main protagonist mentioned in previous leaks. Representing another first for the series, Lucia is a female character of Latina origin. The child will appear in cutscenes but won’t be playable or involved in missions.
A departure from tradition
This inclusion of a child character marks a departure from Rockstar Games’ usual storytelling approach. The studio has historically avoided featuring children in its games due to the mature and controversial content.
Children in other Rockstar Games
Although previous Rockstar Games titles like Red Dead Redemption and its sequel have included children in cutscenes, Grand Theft Auto 6 would be the first in the series to do so.
In the previous installment, Grand Theft Auto 5, the main character Michael De Santa had two adult children, Tracey and Jimmy, who were part of the story. However, they were not young children.
While there were rumors of children being present in the beta version of Grand Theft Auto 3, they were ultimately removed to avoid controversy.
Given the franchise’s history, the inclusion of a child character in Grand Theft Auto 6 is significant news. It remains to be seen how Rockstar Games will handle this inclusion without causing any controversy.
