Is GTA V playable on the Steam Deck?

Grand Theft Auto V Coming to Valve’s Steam Deck

The popular 2013 game, Grand Theft Auto V, is making its way to Valve’s Steam Deck. Having already been released on major consoles like Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, GTA V has become a must-have for gamers.

While there hasn’t been an official confirmation from Rockstar or Valve, GTA V is listed as a playable game on the Steam Deck Verified games list. However, it does not have the “Verified” tag yet, most likely because it has not passed all of Valve’s compatibility tests.

According to information from SteamDB, it seems that the Rockstar launcher may be causing the issue. The compatibility notes suggest that the launcher/setup tool of the game may require touchscreen or virtual keyboard interaction, or have difficult-to-read text.

Although GTA V hasn’t received the Verified tag, it is still tagged as playable. This means that while there may be minor issues regarding player comfort and ease of access, the game can still be enjoyed by fans.

The Steam Deck is set to launch on February 25, with shipping starting on February 28. Gamers can check if their Steam library is compatible with the Great on Deck page or by using the CheckMyDeck tool.
