This VALORANT Player May Have Set an Unusual Record with Raze’s Satchels

Raze Mains in VALORANT Push the Limits of Blast Pack Challenges

VALORANT, the serious tactical shooter, is not without its opportunities for fun challenges. For Raze mains who enjoy hopping around maps with her Blast Packs, there’s plenty of excitement to be had.

In a Reddit post on Nov. 9, a player known as u/240hzfemboy showcased a unique variation of the popular “Floor is Lava” Raze challenge. They were able to perform a technique called “satchel jumping,” propelling themselves from Ascent’s A Main to the top of the generator in the site and back.

According to the player, they managed to keep the loop going for an impressive 18 minutes without once touching the ground. However, the video posted was only 25 seconds long, leaving some skepticism. Actual proof is somewhat lacking.

But, if the claim is true, this player may have set a new and challenging record for Raze mains to aspire to.

Mastering Raze’s satchel-based movement is no easy task, which is why you don’t often see incredible Raze plays in low Elo VALORANT games. “I can’t even do it once,” commented one player on the post, capturing the sentiment shared by many. Not only is the timing between satchels difficult to perfect, but it’s also a challenge to maintain consistency.

Raze’s Blast Packs have always been her most impactful utility as a duelist, and it’s not just for the ability to fly into a site. Satchel peeks can confuse opponents, Spike planting or defusal can be denied, and enemies can be damaged when necessary. Raze’s satchels truly make her the goddess of VALORANT movement.

Unfortunately, Riot Games decided to address the power of Blast Packs in Patch 7.09, making changes to the damage they deal and their arm time. However, this adjustment hasn’t diminished Raze’s effectiveness as a duelist. Those players who can master her Blast Pack-based movement remain formidable opponents in VALORANT.
