VALORANT’s Next Map: What We Know So Far
For weeks, the VALORANT community has been buzzing with rumors and speculation about the location of the game’s next map.
It’s been more than six months since the last map release, and players are eagerly awaiting new information. Riot Games has dropped several hints, including clues in the previous battle pass and a teaser trailer.
While the new map’s location has not been officially announced by Riot Games, there are strong indications that it could be set in Los Angeles, California.
Some fans have speculated that the map will have a sunny theme, inspired by a player card in the Episode Seven battle pass. The card features palm trees and a large building in the background, titled “Golden Hour.”
However, it wasn’t until a teaser trailer featuring Cypher and Deadlock was released that hints of Los Angeles became more apparent. The characters met up to investigate Kingdom Corporation, an organization seeking to harness the power of Radianite.
In the trailer, Cypher is shown revealing an unmarked map on one of his monitors. While the exact location remains undisclosed, it matches the southeast area of Los Angeles County.
In fact, if you look closely, you can spot the intersecting freeways like I-605, I-91, and I-5. The coastal area near the southern part of the map also aligns with Long Beach and its distinctive port. The specific marked location by Cypher is likely in Los Nietos, a small area nestled between Santa Fe Springs and Whittier.
When Can We Expect the Official Map Announcement?
Based on the latest trailer, fans can anticipate an announcement during the 2023 VALORANT Champions finals on Saturday, August 26. This event, taking place in Los Angeles, would be a fitting occasion to unveil the new map.
