NRG Ardiis Applauds FNS’ Remarkable Performance in First VCT LOCK//IN Match: ‘His Calling Was Extraordinary’

NRG dominates in opening match of VALORANT LOCK//IN tournament

Today, NRG emerged victorious in their opening match against KOI in the VALORANT LOCK//IN tournament. The star player Ardiis praised the exceptional leadership of their in-game leader FNS.

In an interview with , Ardiis compared FNS’ calling style to his former IGL Ange1 from FunPlus Phoenix, the team that won Masters Copenhagen in July 2022. Ardiis described FNS’ structured approach as “unbelievable” and expressed admiration for his meticulous planning. He emphasized the importance of having a clear plan in mind, which is exactly what players expect from their IGL.

According to Ardiis, the structured style of FNS benefits him as a player as he can rely on the team’s playbook rather than making impulsive decisions. Ardiis stated, “I like to have structure, I like to have protocols, and know what everybody is doing without looking at the mini-map.”

In today’s match against KOI, Ardiis, who typically tops the scoreboard, took a backseat to his teammates s0m and crashies. Ardiis managed to secure 27 kills, while crashies and s0m led the team with 36 kills each.

Despite Marved’s absence, considered one of the best controller players globally, s0m proved his worth. Ardiis emphasized that s0m is underrated and his outstanding performance against KOI was not surprising to him. Moreover, Ardiis explained that he witnesses s0m’s talent firsthand during daily practice sessions.

NRG will now face the winners of the Giants vs. DetonatioN FocusMe match, a decision that will be made later tonight.
