The higher their rank, players highly value these 4 VALORANT agents

Jett Dominates the High Ranks in VALORANT

As players climb the ranks in competitive VALORANT, certain agents prove to be more valuable than others. While solo playmakers like Reyna and Phoenix become less popular, agents that offer support to the team composition become more viable.

After just a few weeks into Episode Six, we can see that a select few agents fall into the latter category, and their pick rates increase as the ranks get higher.

Jett Takes the Lead

Between Iron and Silver, Jett is ranked fourth to sixth in terms of pick rate in ranked VALORANT. However, her popularity rises to third in Gold, second in Platinum, and she dominates Diamond, Ascendant, Immortal, and Radiant, becoming the most picked agent. At the highest rank of Radiant, Jett boasts the highest overall pick rate of any agent at 15.9 percent, according to Blitz.gg.

Given the impact Jett has on highly skilled players, this comes as no surprise. The top-ranked players have mastered the use of Jett as both an entry fragger and a space creator. With the recent nerfs to Chamber, Jett has once again become the go-to agent for opening fraggers in higher ranks.

Killjoy Rises in the Ranks

The nerfs to Chamber have also paved the way for Killjoy’s return to prominence. While she ranks fifth to sixth between Iron and Diamond, she climbs to fourth in Ascendant and second in Immortal and Radiant. The updates in patches 5.12 and 6.0 have increased the health of Killjoy’s devices and made them immune to allied damage. Additionally, her Nanoswarm can now affect enemy objects and utility.

Sova Shines in Post-Plant Scenarios

Sova’s pick rate also increases as ranks go higher. He ranks eighth to ninth from Iron to Platinum, seventh in Diamond and Ascendant, and fifth in Immortal and Radiant. Sova’s ability kit is highly valued in post-plant scenarios, making him a popular choice among high-ranking players.

Lastly, Astra, who is one of the least picked agents from Iron to Diamond, gains more popularity in Immortal and Radiant ranks. While her global utility range is impressive, using her stars effectively requires advanced communication skills. Lower-ranked players often misuse her ultimate ability.
