Reportedly, VCT team skins may not meet fans’ expectations

Valorant Champions Tour Teams to Receive Weapon Skins

Teams partnered with the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) will be receiving weapon skins, according to data miner ValorLeaks. While there hasn’t been official confirmation from Riot Games, leaks suggest that team-based skins will be included. This follows the trend of other major esports titles like Call of Duty, Halo, and Overwatch, which feature team-based skins for their partnered organizations or franchises.

Variant-Based Skins for VCT

The way VCT skins will be added to the game might not be what fans expected. Rather than selling individual skin bundles, the weapon skins will likely be variant-based. This means players can purchase one weapon skin and choose variants for the teams they want to represent in-game. Currently, weapon variants can be unlocked using Radianite, which can be obtained through the battle pass or purchased directly.

It is unclear if the partnered skins will include player cards and gun buddies, which are typically included in Valorant bundles. These extras may not be added if variants are the chosen approach for VCT skins.

Expected Release and Confirmation Status

ValorLeaks predicts that the weapon skins will be released in the next couple of months, although Riot has neither confirmed nor denied this information.
