Guide to Mastering Lotus in VALORANT: Layout, Callouts, Tips, and Tricks

In the near future, Lotus will be fully integrated into the unrated and competitive queues in VALORANT. So, it is important to familiarize yourself with this new map instead of queue dodging.

Lotus is a unique and fascinating map in the game. It features three sites to plant the spike, rotating button-activated doors, and a small destructible door that connects A Main and A Link.

Mastering the new map might take some time, but you can give yourself an early advantage by learning the proper callouts and picking up useful tricks.

Here are the basic callouts for the Lotus map. Additionally, the big pit in the B site is often referred to as “Pit,” and the breakable door between A Link and A Main is known as “Vent” or “Link Door.”

Controlling A Main is crucial for both attackers and defenders on the A site. Attackers should focus on smoking off A Stairs to gain control of A Main.

On defense, there are different strategies to try. Using utility at A Lobby and A Root can cover a defender pushing up to the Rubble spot. Leaving a player to defend A Tree is also effective, as they can surprise attackers from A Door. A Drop is a silent spot, allowing defenders to rotate quietly from A Top.

When attacking B, a double-pronged attack via B Pillar and the C Mound is effective. Defenders often position themselves in the A Link hallway and the upper B area, so smoking those off or clearing them is crucial during an execute.

When defending B, aggressive use of utility can slow down potential pushes. An agent with high mobility can hide behind the box in B main and retreat if pinched from B Pillars and C Door. The safest angle to defend the B site is from A Link.

When attacking C, gradually taking control of the C Mound area and using smokes and flashes is the best approach. Planting closest to C Mound provides a better post-plant advantage on C.

When defending C, it’s important to prioritize C Mound control. Preventing a free plant is crucial, as post-plants heavily favor attackers on C. If you’ve lost control of C Mound, use hiding spots on the site to deny the plant instead of going for a retake.
