Xbox Game Pass reveals that it takes players 41 hours to complete VALORANT

The Duration of Beating VALORANT on Xbox Game Pass

It’s quite intriguing that you can “beat” VALORANT. This might come as a surprise to dedicated players who have invested countless hours into the game without reaching the finish line. However, according to the game’s listing on Xbox Game Pass, it should have been achievable around the 41-hour mark.

For those who are unaware, VALORANT is one of the Riot Games titles that made its way to the Game Pass service earlier this month. Although games like VALORANT and League of Legends are free-to-play, Game Pass subscribers can enjoy instant access to all characters, XP boosts, and a handful of other perks.

The Time to Beat VALORANT

Every game on the Xbox app for PC features a built-in “how long to beat” section that presents data from the game’s listing on the HowLongToBeat website. While it takes roughly over 1,000 hours to complete just the “main story” of League of Legends and nearly 2,500 hours to fully complete it, VALORANT requires significantly less time, only 41 hours.

Of course, as a multiplayer tactical shooter without a campaign or end-game content, VALORANT cannot be “beaten” in the traditional sense. But where does this 41-hour number come from? The number displayed on the Xbox app is even more perplexing when compared to the data on the game’s HowLongToBeat page. According to the average time reported by players, it takes over 58 hours, while the page itself states 98 hours.

Defining the Completion of VALORANT

Furthermore, there is no clear-cut definition of what it means to “beat” VALORANT, as there would be for most single-player games with a campaign or story mode. Does it mean unlocking all agents manually through contracts? Or the time it takes to reach the Radiant rank? Or the time needed to fully level up a battle pass?

No one can definitively say what it means in the end, but if you have played for more than 41 hours and feel like you haven’t accomplished anything, don’t be discouraged. That’s just VALORANT for you.
