Gen.G secures final NA spot at VCT Masters 1, eliminates NRG

Gen.G Secures Final Spot at VCT Masters with Victory Over NRG Esports

Yesterday, Gen.G emerged victorious in the North American VALORANT competition, securing the final spot in the upcoming VCT Masters event. They defeated NRG Esports in a 2-0 match in the lower bracket, cementing their place in the tournament.

Since his signing in October, Gen.G’s Shawn O’Riley has consistently delivered exceptional performances for his team. In the match against NRG, he started off with an impressive 22 kills on Ascent, going head-to-head with NRG’s Bradley “ANDROID” Fodor. Gen.G’s strong defense in the second half led them to a 13-9 victory.

The series then moved to Haven, NRG’s choice. While Shawn continued to perform well, it was his duelist partner Danny “huynh” Huynh who stole the show this time. Huynh achieved 24 kills on Jett with only 13 deaths, leading to a notable average combat score of 300. On the other hand, NRG’s Jett main Ryan “shanks” Ngo had a challenging series and couldn’t match Gen.G’s firepower.

As a result, the lineup for Masters is now finalized. The teams that have qualified are Team Envy, Sentinels, Immortals, XSET from Challengers Two, and Luminosity, FaZe Clan, 100 Thieves, and Gen.G from Challengers Three. The remaining four teams in Challengers Three will compete for seeding at Masters and a $50k prize pool.

Luminosity will face FaZe in the upper bracket final of Challengers Three, while Gen.G will take on 100 Thieves in the lower bracket.
