Riot Games Announces Starting Dates for VALORANT Champions Tour 2021

Riot Games has revealed the starting dates for the Challengers stage of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021. The announcement was made during the Episode Two “Hangout Stream” on the official VALORANT Twitch channel. This stream showcased the starting dates for each competitive region.

Starting Dates for Each Region

In chronological order, the starting dates for each region’s Challengers stage are as follows: Latin America on Jan. 26, Brazil and Korea on Jan. 30, North America from Feb. 3 to 7, Europe on Feb. 4, Southeast Asia on Feb. 5, and the CIS on Feb. 11. The starting dates for Japan and the Middle East/North Africa region are yet to be announced.

Format and Path to Championship

The Challengers stage and the Champions Tour feature a format where each region hosts several Challengers events that lead to a Masters event. Throughout the year, there will be three Masters events that determine the regional spots at the ultimate Champions event.

International Competition and Open Qualifiers

These upcoming Masters and Champions events will mark the first instance of international competition in the VALORANT esports ecosystem. The journey begins with the regional Challengers events, which start in as little as two weeks from now. All of the initial Challengers events will utilize an open qualifier system.

Updated Jan. 15 12:53pm CT: Riot announced today that the EU region will begin on Feb. 4 instead of Feb. 11.
