G2 parts ways with Davidp from its VALORANT roster

G2 Esports makes changes to its VALORANT roster

G2 Esports, a prominent European VALORANT team, has decided to shake up its lineup following its recent success in various tournaments. After finishing third in the First Strike Europe tournament, G2 announced that David “Davidp” Prins will be moved to the inactive roster.

A strategic move for G2 Esports

Davidp initially joined G2 as a stand-in before signing with the team in July. Prior to their loss in the First Strike tournament, G2 had achieved first place in every main event they competed in. However, after this setback, the team evaluated their options and concluded that a change was necessary to enhance their flexibility moving forward.

Thankful for Davidp’s contribution

G2’s team manager, Maik “MaikTurtle” Löffler, expressed gratitude for Davidp’s time with the team and acknowledged the success they had achieved together. Despite his departure from the active roster, Davidp remains under contract with G2 but is free to explore other opportunities while G2 seeks a replacement for his role in 2021.

Determined to bounce back

Davidp has accepted the team’s decision and understands the need for improvement. He fondly looks back on their victories and shared moments, expressing his belief that he is one of the best players in VALORANT. He is confident in his abilities and the experience he has gained, vowing to bounce back in 2021.
