100 Thieves Win the VALORANT First Strike: North America Tournament

100 Thieves Crowned Champions of VALORANT First Strike: North America

After a month of intense qualifiers and numerous matches, the North American champions of VALORANT First Strike have been declared.

In an exciting grand finals showdown, 100 Thieves emerged victorious with a 3-1 victory over TSM, claiming the championship title and a prize pool of $40,000. Each player on the 100 Thieves roster played a crucial role in their success.

An Ace Play by Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk

In one remarkable play on Bind, Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk showcased his skill with Raze’s ultimate ability, Showstopper. He eliminated three TSM players with his rocket, swiftly flicked to headshot a fourth opponent, and patiently watched the spike as he eliminated Yassine “Subroza” Taoufik for the fifth and final kill.

Hiko’s Impact as Captain

Team captain Spencer “Hiko” Martin, known for his expertise with Sova, surprised everyone by playing Raze on Split. 100 Thieves adopted a three-duelist composition inspired by TSM’s strategy, which ultimately worked in their favor. The former CS:GO professional also showcased his clutch moments throughout the series, leading all players with 73 kills.

100 Thieves’ Rising Stature

With a combination of experienced veterans and talented young players, 100 Thieves has quickly found their stride in VALORANT. Despite being just over two months old as a roster, they have proven their ability to compete against teams that have been together since the closed beta.

In the future, Riot Games plans to further enhance VALORANT’s competitive ecosystem with the VALORANT Champions Tour in 2021. This season-long global competition aims to determine the best team in the world.
