Guild Esports penalized with forfeit in VALORANT First Strike Qualifiers due to exploit usage

Guild Esports Receives Forfeit Loss in VALORANT First Strike: Europe Playoffs

Guild Esports has been handed a forfeit loss in the VALORANT First Strike: Europe playoffs after the team utilized an exploit during their match against G2 Esports. As a result, G2 Esports replaced Guild in their match earlier today, while Guild will still have the opportunity to compete in the qualifiers next week.

During the qualifiers match, Guild reportedly made use of an “illegal boost” on Ascent by utilizing Sage’s wall on B site. This particular spot provided players with a clear view of B hall and allowed defenders to easily eliminate enemies before they reached the site.

Riot Games has released an official statement emphasizing that exploits are strictly forbidden in professional competition, resulting in Guild Esports receiving a forfeit loss. G2 Esports filled in for Guild in their match against NiP and emerged victorious, securing their spot in the First Strike event.

This marks the first significant disqualification in the history of VALORANT esports. However, G2 has also faced accusations of using the Elderflame Vandal skin, which was disabled due to a bug. As of now, G2 has not faced any official punishment, and it remains uncertain if there will be further consequences.

The boost spot has been present in VALORANT for several months. While Guild will still be able to compete for a spot in the First Strike tournament, they will no longer be able to utilize the boost.
