Team Secret Reunites with Two Familiar Faces for Dota 2 Roster in the New Year

Team Secret Welcomes Back BOOM and MidOne to the Roster

Team Secret, who finished in the second division of the 2023 DPC, has been given a chance to redeem themselves after Valve canceled the DPC for 2024. The team recently announced the return of two former players, Miroslav “BOOM” Bičan and Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng.

Many fans were disappointed by this news, as they were expecting more significant changes within the team. BOOM was removed from the roster just last June, and MidOne had been playing in a different position, raising concerns about his performance compared to Armel Paul Tabios.

Given Team Secret’s underwhelming performance in the previous season, it was expected that attracting new players would be a challenge. Fans of Dota 2 hoped that Team Secret would scout talented pubstars from the ranked ladder and nurture them under the leadership of Clement “Puppey” Ivanov.

The upcoming ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 qualifiers will determine which region’s qualifiers Team Secret will participate in. Although the team has primarily competed in the Western European region, there is a possibility they may opt for the MENA or SEA qualifiers.

Puppey participated in Dota 2’s Riyadh Masters 2023 under a different name during the summer, attempting to qualify for the tournament through the MENA qualifiers. Considering the intense competition in the Western European region, it would be advantageous for Team Secret to consider region hopping.

The Western European region, despite being the most dominant in 2023, only received a single qualification spot for ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023. This means that Team Liquid, Tundra Esports, Quest Esports, and Entity will be competing fiercely for one seat, creating a challenging environment for Team Secret’s rebuilt roster.
