Newest Dota 2 hero was actually teased prior to TI 2023

Dota 2’s New Hero Ringmaster Hinted at in April Update

The announcement of Dota 2’s new hero, Ringmaster, at The International 2023 was not the first time players caught a glimpse of him. In April’s New Frontiers update, a clever hint was hidden in an official image that went unnoticed until recently.

Cleverly Concealed Hint: A Circus Admission Ticket

An image from the patch featured a coffee cup and plate, with a circus admission ticket subtly hidden beneath. The ticket shared the same red and cream colors as Ringmaster, making it a clear nod to the new hero’s eerie circus theme.

Popular Dota 2 figure, SirActionSlacks, noticed the clue early on because it stood out from the rest. Initially, he thought it was related to another item but eventually connected the dots and revealed the hint.

A Possible Reimagined Hero

While not much is known about Ringmaster’s abilities and skills, some players speculate that he may be a reimagined version of a hero from another game. Comparisons have been made to Puppet Master from Heroes of Newerth, especially since Puppet Master was previously hinted at in a data leak.

Release Date Speculation

Although Ringmaster was announced at TI 2023, players will have to wait until early next year to play as him. Based on the release patterns of the latest heroes, it is predicted that Valve will introduce Ringmaster between February and May 2024.

Time will tell whether this theory holds true or if Ringmaster is an entirely unique hero. Until then, players can only speculate on what this mischievous hero has in store for them next year.
