Viewers’ TI 2023 experience being affected by Dota TV problems

Dota TV Struggles to Keep Up with Demand During The International 2023

Dota TV is a unique feature in the Dota 2 client that allows fans to spectate tournament matches. However, fans have been experiencing major issues during the early days of The International 2023.

The biggest problem is that Dota TV has failed to keep up with the high demand. On the first day of the tournament, numerous fans reported severe lags and freezes that prevented them from spectating.

Dota TV Fails to Load During First Matches of TI 2023

With TI 2023’s Road to The International starting today, Dota 2 players were in for a surprise. Dota TV failed to load during the first matches, and when it eventually started working again, the feeds were plagued with continuous lagging and freezes.

As a result, many Dota 2 fans migrated to watching TI12 on Twitch and YouTube. While that is also the go-to method for most viewers, some Dota 2 fans prefer following tournaments inside the Dota 2 client because Dota TV offers spoiler-prevention tools, allowing fans across different time zones to pace their tournament viewing.

Additionally, the graphical quality of Dota TV surpasses that of any standard stream, and players can engage in Dota 2 match predictions to earn prediction points.

Dota TV Bugs Prevent Players from Making Predictions at TI 2023

Dota TV bugs and errors have prevented players from making predictions at the start of this week’s TI 2023 matches. This is a major appeal for watching matches in the client, and players are eagerly awaiting Valve’s rollout to fix these problems.

There is also a feature that allows players to make predictions on Twitch, but it is hit or miss since it doesn’t consistently work.

Based on ‘ tests in Dota TV, the stutters appear to be tied to TI 2023 only, as no problems were encountered while spectating ranked matches. Server-side issues could be caused by too many players spectating a single match simultaneously.

Valve will need to quickly address these issues as TI 2023 is likely to attract more and more Dota 2 viewers as the tournament progresses.
