Opinions vary among Dota 2 players regarding the forthcoming substantial April update

The much-anticipated 7.33 update for Dota 2 is finally arriving after a long wait, and players are excited to see what changes it brings. Valve has promised that this update will be significantly larger than previous ones, and the community is buzzing with anticipation.

While the professional players may not be thrilled about major changes so close to the Berlin Major, the Dota community is eagerly discussing and speculating about the upcoming update.

Some Dota fans are hoping that Valve will skip version 7.33 and jump straight to version 8.00, despite Valve’s confirmation in March that the April update would be 7.33.

The last major update, version 7.00, was released in December 2016 and brought significant changes to the game, including a new hero, a HUD rework, and the introduction of Shrines and Talents. Unlike the teaser for that update, there haven’t been any hints of such huge changes this time.

The community has been debating the meaning of “significant” in the pre-patch hype, with many players discussing changes they believe are necessary for the health of Dota 2. One popular suggestion on a Reddit post is to make changes to the Black King Bar item, which has been a core requirement for years.

The Black King Bar has been nerfed over the years, but it remains one of the most purchased items in both professional and casual Dota in version 7.32. Some players believe it is a must-buy, while others think the power creep in spells has made it too strong.

Another change that players are hoping for is a rework of the mid lane. They feel that the Tower’s detection range is too large, making it difficult to make plays, especially with the presence of Flagbearer Creeps and Water Runes.

In the past, support heroes would secure Water Runes for their mid, which allowed them to focus less on mana management. But with the overpowered mid lane tower and other disadvantages, the early game has become predictable and stale.

Lastly, there are many requests to nerf or remove Tinker from the game. This mischievous hero has a strong win rate, and players are tired of dealing with his spamming and mass teleportation.

The Dota 2 7.33 update is expected to launch on April 20 in the late afternoon.
