Top 5 Dota 2 Teams in 2022

Each DPC season is a chance for Dota 2 teams to prove themselves and make it to The International. In 2022, TI11 became one of the most memorable events in the game’s history. From legendary storylines to impressive performances, it was a standout year for Dota 2.

South America had a phenomenal year in 2022. Hokori, beastcoast, and Thunder Awaken all stepped up at the highest stage of Dota 2, showcasing their skills and making their region proud.

Hokori, beastcoast, and Thunder Awaken — South America

The highlight for South America was Hokori, a division two team that made it to TI for the first time. They had an inspiring journey and caused upsets during the group stage. Beastcoast, a consistent performer in LAN events, finished in seventh place. Thunder Awaken achieved the highest placement for the region, tying with PSG.LGD for fifth place.

OG — Europe

OG, a two-time TI-winning organization, made roster changes and welcomed new talent. They had a successful season, winning a Major trophy and tying for seventh place at TI11. Despite their achievements, OG decided to make further roster changes in pursuit of an even better season.

Team Aster and PSG.LGD — China

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Chinese Dota 2 teams missed out on attending Majors and practicing against international teams. PSG.LGD struggled at TI11, but Team Aster stepped up and placed fourth, defeating LGD. LGD had a slow start but managed to reach the fifth place after surviving three rounds in the lower bracket.

Team Liquid and Team Secret — Europe

Team Liquid and Team Secret had to fight through the Last Chance Qualifiers but became dominant forces in the main event of TI11. Secret maintained their position in the upper bracket while Liquid had impressive performances in the lower bracket. Despite disappointing performances throughout the season, Liquid placed third, and Secret placed second.

Tundra Esports — Europe

Tundra Esports had a shaky DPC season, but their bootcamp leading up to TI11 paid off. They mastered the metagame and cruised through the tournament, showcasing their dominance. Tundra lifted the Aegis of Champions and proved themselves as the top team in Europe.
