The Return of Royalty: The Iconic OG Team Might Compete in the 2023 DPC, Suggests Taiga

The Return of the OG Squad to Dota 2: Will the Legends Make a Comeback?

During the roster shuffle season in Dota 2, teams are constantly searching for ways to create the strongest roster possible. Whether it’s through the free agency market or buyouts, there are always options available, including the possibility of retired players making a comeback. In a recent stream, Taiga hinted at the “high chance” of the legendary OG squad returning for the DPC 2023 season.

The OG roster, who have won The International twice, took a break from competition in late 2021. Some labeled it as retirement, but it seemed more like a temporary hiatus considering that both Topson and Ana returned to participate in TI11.

In an interview with , OG’s founder and former captain of the team, n0tail, revealed that he still entertains the idea of making a comeback with the old but gold roster. However, he also mentioned that he doesn’t feel compelled by the Dota gods to return at the moment, but it’s possible that he or other members of the team have since received the call.

With JerAx currently coaching and Topson considering a return to Europe to pursue a third Aegis, only three OG members are currently in the shadows. Ceb has been standing in and actively involved in developing the new OG roster. It will be fascinating to see how the former kings of Dota finalize their return, should they choose to do so.

Considering OG is also undergoing a roster change, there’s a possibility that some of the original squad members could assist the younger players in their quest to reach the top of the Dota scene.
