Current Loading Screen Player Banners in VALORANT Leave Developers Dissatisfied

A Fan’s Plea for Riot to Bring Back Full Banners in VALORANT

In response to a passionate request from a VALORANT fan, Riot has announced that they will be bringing back full banners.

In the past, VALORANT fans were able to proudly display their player cards with cool banners during the loading screen. However, Riot recently made some changes with the introduction of account levels, which limited the player card to a small square. It seems that the developers are not satisfied with how these changes turned out, as revealed by executive producer Anna “SuperCakes” Donlon.

Donlon also mentioned that the team is actively working to bring back the full banners. Though no specific timeline has been provided, players can look forward to this feature being updated in the future.

The previous version of the banners allowed players to view the key art from a different perspective. However, due to the vertical orientation of player cards, certain illustrations could be cut off on the sides. For example, the VALORANT GO! Vol. 1 Jett player card has its arms cut off. The horizontal banner provides a better view of such illustrations in landscape mode.

Currently, the banners feature a mostly transparent background with the player’s name and title placed in the middle. A small space on the far right is reserved for the player card and account level border. This more simplistic approach falls short when compared to the previous version, so Riot may decide to revert it or introduce a similar concept.
