Key player departs Gaimin Gladiators in early post-TI11 shuffle

Dota 2 Player BOOM Leaves Gaimin Gladiators Ahead of DPC Season

The International 2022 is nearing its end for the remaining three teams, but Gaimin Gladiators have already made headlines by announcing the departure of player BOOM.

The departure of BOOM comes as a surprise to many Dota 2 fans who had expected the team to stick together and aim for improvement in the upcoming DPC season and TI12. While GG has confirmed that BOOM is leaving on good terms, his departure could lead to further changes in the team’s roster.

It seems BOOM’s decision to leave might be due to an expiring contract, as most teams in Dota 2 only have guaranteed contracts until the end of their TI runs. This suggests that the rest of the GG players are also likely free agents, discussing potential contracts with the organization before making a final decision.

Formerly known as Team Tickles, the squad formed in November 2021 after the disbandment of Vikin.gg and Hellbear Smashers post-TI10. They gained momentum early on and were picked up by GG after winning the first tour of the 2021-2022 Western European DPC regional league.

The team continued to perform well throughout the season, finishing in fourth place at the Stockholm Major and securing a spot at TI11. Despite a disappointing final tour in the DPC, GG entered TI11 with confidence, eventually making it to the main event after a shaky start.

However, their journey was cut short with a ninth-place finish following a close 1-2 loss to OG.

BOOM’s exceptional performance and growth throughout the season make him one of the most sought-after midlaners in Europe. With several teams and organizations looking to rebuild in the region, BOOM will likely have multiple options to choose from once the dust settles after TI11.

Only time will tell if the rumored BOOM.BOOM duo will become a reality.
