Immediate attention required for Deadlock bug in VALORANT to prevent further damage

A New Bug in VALORANT’s Deadlock Agent is Causing Problems

VALORANT, the popular esports game, is facing yet another bug. This time, it’s affecting the game’s newest agent, Deadlock. Her sound-sensing traps are being triggered even after her death, which poses a challenge for players on the opposing team.

Since Deadlock’s launch on June 27, many players, including myself, have experienced this bug. It happened to me during a match and cost my team the round. I tried to recreate the bug, but it wasn’t easy to trigger.

However, a player named JulyAmCFGDm captured the bug in action and posted it on Reddit on July 21.

The video clearly shows Deadlock’s trap remaining active even after her death, despite the inactive indicator being displayed. It concussed an opponent when they were defusing the bomb, leading to the loss of the round. This is not an intended feature, as other sentinel traps deactivate after the agent’s death.

Another VALORANT player named Dva_main203 explained how the bug is triggered. It occurs when Deadlock dies just before setting up a Sonic Sensor, causing it to remain active for the rest of the round. However, reproducing this bug in a competitive game is nearly impossible, unless it’s a custom match.

Even if you manage to trigger the bug, it’s useless because your team’s Deadlock would have to die, putting you at a disadvantage. This bug can occur randomly, resulting in an unfair outcome. Some players have reported that the bug is always active, while others have been lucky enough to avoid it.

Although bugs are common in online multiplayer games, players are understandably frustrated when they encounter broken features like this in ranked matches. Many players have expressed their disappointment with Riot’s neglect in addressing these issues.

Riot is expected to fix this bug in the game’s next update, patch 7.02, which is scheduled to release next week.
