Discovering the Ideal Counter for Deadlock’s Utility in VALORANT

Deadlock’s Barrier Mesh Can Be Deactivated by Another Barrier Mesh

Your VALORANT team just got a major advantage with Deadlock’s utility. But there’s a catch – her Barrier Mesh can be easily countered by another Barrier Mesh.

Simply throw your own Barrier Mesh next to Deadlock’s and watch as hers deactivates. This means you can pass through without firing a single bullet, as demonstrated in a Reddit post on July 19th. Though enemies may hear your Barrier Mesh activating, they will likely remain unaware of your presence.

Other Abilities Can Also Break Deadlock’s Walls

It seems that Deadlock’s utility is not her only vulnerability. Certain abilities from other VALORANT agents can also destroy her walls. For example, placing Cypher’s Camera next to the edge of Deadlock’s walls can completely nullify her ability, as shown in a video by Tpaxtop on July 10th.

Get Through the Enemy Wall and Provide Your Own

By countering Deadlock’s Barrier Mesh, you not only gain access to the enemy’s site, but you also create your own walls to aid in your escape.

This is one of the first glitches discovered with Deadlock’s utility. Despite only debuting on June 27, 2023, her wall-based abilities are already on par with Sage and Harbor. Riot will likely prioritize fixing this bug, so let’s hope the VALORANT PBE servers continue to uncover more weaknesses in her walls.
