In the VALORANT Champions Tour EMEA Last Chance Qualifier, Karmine Corp (KC) delivered a stunning performance, surpassing all expectations. Despite their lackluster regular season, KC managed to defeat BBL in a thrilling 2-1 series, showcasing their strength as a team.
A Rollercoaster of a Match
KC’s performance in the first two maps of the series highlighted their contrasting gameplay. In the first map, Haven, KC squandered a 10-4 lead and lost in overtime with a score of 14-12. However, in the second map, Lotus, they dominated with a clean 13-9 victory, leveling the series.
The Legendary Battle on Bind
The defining moment of the VALORANT series occurred in the third map, Bind. KC had a slight lead of 7-5 at half-time and extended it to 12-7, putting them on match point. However, a series of unfortunate rounds led to a bad economy and a tense situation on rounds 23 and 24.
Despite being four players up, KC fell victim to Turko’s sharpshooting and lost the round. However, they didn’t let it break their spirits and managed to secure a three-vs-two scenario in the final round before overtime. Turko then astonished everyone with an ace, but KC remained unfazed.
Karmine Corp Prevails
Thanks to their mental strength and perseverance, KC won the overtime rounds, securing a series victory and keeping their hopes alive in the Last Chance Qualifier.
Coach pm expressed relief after the match, acknowledging the tough battle they faced on Bind. He also highlighted their ability to bounce back after losing a 1v4 round and their strategic decision to create a spectacle by intentionally losing rounds on Haven and Bind.
KC will continue their run in the LCQ, facing Giants Gaming on June 20. Winning this match will secure their spot in the next round, while a loss will drop them to the lower bracket.
