NRG begins ‘VALORANT roster reveal week’ featuring their returning coach

NRG Esports Announces VALORANT Roster for VCT Americas League

In an exciting VALORANT offseason, NRG Esports, one of the partnered teams competing in the VCT Americas league, is preparing to reveal its roster for the upcoming season. However, the organization has decided to take its time with the announcement.

NRG Esports has kicked off its “NRG VALORANT roster reveal week” by welcoming back a familiar face and highly respected coach, Chet Singh. Chet, who recently parted ways with OpTic, has returned to NRG after previously coaching both CS:GO and VALORANT.

Chet Singh’s Successful Coaching Career

Chet previously coached VALORANT for NRG in the first half of 2021, but the team struggled to find consistency amid multiple roster changes. His most triumphant time with NRG came while coaching the CS:GO division, leading the team to several trophies and even reaching the semifinals of the StarLadder Berlin Major before transferring to Evil Geniuses.

However, Chet is best known to VALORANT fans as the head coach of the immensely successful OpTic roster in 2022. OpTic achieved remarkable results last year, reaching the top three in all three international VCT events, making it to the grand finals of Champions 2022, and winning Masters Reykjavík.

The New NRG Roster

Chet is expected to continue coaching most of the OpTic roster on NRG. According to sources, the NRG roster will consist of former OpTic players Pujan “FNS” Mehta, Victor Wong, and Austin “crashies” Roberts. Additionally, Sam “s0m” Oh, former FPX player Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks, and Zander “thwifo” Kim will join as the sixth man.

The new NRG roster will make its debut at the VCT 2023 Kickoff event in Sao Paulo, Brazil in February.
