Chiefs pull off stunning upset at IEM Sydney in front of their home crowd

Massive Upset as Chiefs Stage Unbelievable Comeback in CS:GO

The second day of IEM Sydney witnessed one of the most remarkable comebacks in the history of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. In an elimination match between North and the Australian team Chiefs, Chiefs staged an incredible comeback on the second half of Nuke, winning with a score of 16-13.

Both North and Chiefs had the same record of 1-2 in map victories in the tournament’s swiss format. Chiefs had only managed to defeat their domestic rivals, Renegades, while North had experienced both victories and losses against OpTic, SK Gaming, and FaZe Clan. Despite these results, Chiefs had extremely low odds of winning against North.

However, Josh “INS” Potter and Alistair “aliStair” Johnston from the Chiefs delivered phenomenal performances that completely turned the tide in the second half. Their outstanding gameplay led to one of the biggest upsets in CS:GO history and sent North packing.

This loss is considered one of the worst in North’s history, considering that the team is composed of some of the biggest star players from Denmark.

Despite their impressive performance, Chiefs couldn’t secure a spot in the playoffs as they were defeated once again by OpTic in the deciding round of the group stage.
