How to Counter Deadlock in VALORANT
Deadlock, the fifth sentinel agent in VALORANT, has received mixed reactions due to her nanowire-powered kit. While some players dismiss her abilities, an expert player can wield her to great effect. If you want to learn how to counter Deadlock, here are some strategies to implement.
Barrier Mesh
The Barrier Mesh is Deadlock’s most influential ability, not only because of its durability, but also its movement-blocking mechanic. Breaking the smaller orbs of the barrier immediately after deployment will require fewer bullets. After fortification, focus on breaking only the necessary orbs to free up movement conditions.
Movement is crucial in gunfights, so ensure you break one or two of the smaller orbs to create more space. If you have time, wait for the barrier to dissipate or rotate to a different site. Remember that Deadlock only has one barrier per round, so faking a site and rotating can be an effective strategy.
GravNet
GravNet, Deadlock’s basic ability, can be effective when combined with damage-inflicting abilities. However, it can be countered by agents with mobility or teleport abilities. Be aware of incoming combos and dodge them accordingly. If Deadlock and her allies target a spot multiple times, move to a different spot to waste their utility.
Sonic Sensor
