How to Stream the VALORANT FTW Summer Showdown

Nerd Street Gamers and Spectacor Gaming Partner for FTW Summer Showdown

Nerd Street Gamers and Spectacor Gaming, Comcast NBCUniversal’s esports division, have teamed up to organize a thrilling all-women VALORANT tournament called the FTW Summer Showdown. The tournament will take place this weekend, featuring 12 teams battling it out for a $50,000 prize pool. Initially, the prize pool was much smaller, but with the support of Riot Games, an additional $40,000 was added, along with a spot on the Ignition Series schedule. This led to the expansion of the tournament from eight teams to 12.

Expansion and Qualification

Thanks to Riot Games, the FTW Summer Showdown became a part of the prestigious Ignition Series. In addition, four squads earned spots in the tournament through a qualifier event held last weekend. These four teams will join the original eight teams in the competition, making it an even more exciting event to watch.

Date, Time, and Streaming

The three-day tournament kicks off today and will conclude on Sunday, Sept. 13. Viewers can catch all the action on Nerd Street’s Twitch channel, starting at 4pm CT.

Format and Expectations

While the organizers have not announced the specific format of the event, considering its expanded size and extended duration, it is likely that the tournament will feature a round-robin group stage to determine the seeding for a single or double-elimination bracket. Stay tuned for updates on the format as the tournament progresses.
