Two VALORANT agents missing from VCT Masters Tokyo have caught attention

VCT Masters Tokyo: Reyna and Yoru Left Out of Action

The VCT Masters Tokyo tournament has been an exciting roller-coaster ride for viewers, showcasing heroic plays and unconventional strategies. However, two agents in VALORANT, Reyna and Yoru, were completely ignored by all 12 teams participating in the event.

According to vlr.gg, both Reyna and Yoru had a zero percent pick rate at Masters Tokyo, reinforcing their status as niche duelists with limited popularity among professional players.

While Yoru gained some attention in the VCT EMEA League, being a popular pick for Natus Vincere, Reyna had scattered appearances in the Pacific League. However, both agents went unnoticed in the Americas and EMEA League.

The reason behind their absence is quite apparent. While Reyna and Yoru have their advantages, there are more powerful duelists like Raze and Jett available in the game. Currently, Jett and Raze rank among the top five agents in terms of pick rate at Masters Tokyo.

Reyna, known for her solo carry potential, offers little value to the team apart from aggressive frags. On the other hand, Yoru excels in duel-centric abilities but requires extensive team support and coordination. Teams prefer independent duelists like Raze and Jett, who can control space effectively and ensure their own safety.

Although Reyna and Yoru have been excluded from the majority of Masters Tokyo matches, there is still a chance that they may make appearances in the lower finals or even the grand finals. Paper Rex may choose to play Reyna against Evil Geniuses, and with the tournament’s history of surprises, anything is possible.

Aside from Reyna and Yoru, Phoenix and Chamber were also overlooked for most of Masters Tokyo until they made their debut in the lower-bracket series between NRG Esports and Paper Rex on June 21.

With only three teams remaining in the tournament, the excitement at VCT Masters is reaching its peak. A team composition featuring Yoru or Reyna could provide the perfect final touch to the intense competition.
