Is a True Sight for TI11 in the works for Dota 2?

Dota 2’s biggest event, The International, is highly anticipated by the esports community. It not only showcases the pinnacle of Dota 2 competition but also brings a lot of exciting content for fans to enjoy.

One beloved piece of content related to The International is the critically acclaimed True Sight documentary. Released alongside the event since 2017, the documentary has been a source of joy for the community.

However, according to a conversation between OG CEO JMR Luna and back-to-back TI winners Sébastien “Ceb” Debs and Johan “N0tail” Sundstein, there might not be a True Sight documentary for The International 11.

“I have something that I want to put in the universe, and I heard there’s no True Sight this year,” said JMR Luna, expressing some resistance to the idea. This news saddened both Ceb and N0tail, with Ceb even joking about funding it himself to ensure its continuation. N0tail expressed confusion about why Valve would want to change this ritual, considering its success in advertising the event to players.

N0tail speculated on possible reasons for this change, including Valve potentially not caring anymore or lacking the energy and passion to produce the documentary. Another possibility he considered was that Valve had a legitimate reason related to the growth of Dota 2.

At this point, the absence of True Sight for The International 11 remains a mere rumor. Valve has not confirmed or denied it, leaving fans in suspense until more information surfaces.

If the rumor turns out to be true, it will surely disappoint the Dota 2 fanbase, as True Sight has become an integral part of the event’s tradition.
