Reportedly, Europe will soon be home to VALORANT’s Game Changers.

Riot Games Expanding VALORANT Champions Tour Game Changers Initiative to Europe

Riot Games is reaching out to European organizations to bring the VALORANT Champions Tour Game Changers initiative to Europe. This initiative aims to create opportunities and exposure for women and marginalized genders in esports, as reported by Arran “Halo” Spake and confirmed by George Geddes of Upcomer.

VCT Game Changers Series in North America

The VCT Game Changers has already organized two high-level series in North America. The first one took place in March, followed by the second one in June. Cloud9 White emerged as the champions in both editions, winning a $50,000 prize pool each time.

Inclusion in Academy-Level Tournaments

Additionally, the Game Changers initiative includes organizing tournaments for women and marginalized genders on an academy level. So far, Riot has conducted two VCT Game Changers Academy tournaments in North America, with the third one scheduled to start on July 30. Similar events have been held in Brazil, Latin America, and Asia, but Europe is yet to host one, despite being home to top-tier organizations competing in VALORANT.

Promoting Inclusivity in VALORANT Esports

Whalen Rozell, senior director of esports at Riot, stated in February, “With VALORANT esports, we’re committed to fostering an inclusive environment for competition and creating safe opportunities for women to compete without fear of identity or gender-based harassment.”

The European VALORANT esports scene features prominent organizations such as Team Liquid, G2, Fnatic, FunPlus Phoenix, Guild, Acend, and Heretics.
