Asian VALORANT Team to Assemble 10-Man Roster Ahead of VCT 2023

Global Esports to Expand VALORANT Roster for VCT 2023 Season

Indian esports team Global Esports, which is part of the Asia partnership league, plans to sign additional players and create a 10-man roster for the upcoming 2023 VCT season in VALORANT.

According to reports, Global Esports aims to have its 10-man roster approved by Riot Games and then participate in a boot camp in Korea. The organization will then select the six players who will represent the team at VCT São Paulo, the first tournament of the franchised program in VALORANT.

Currently, Global Esports has six Indian players under contract, namely Ganesh “SkRossi” Gangadhar, Bhavin “HellrangeR” Kotwani, Akshay “KappA” Sinkar, Jayanth “skillZ” Ramesh, Abhirup “Lightningfast” Choudhury, and Pranav “Kohliii” Kohli.

While having a 10-man roster is not yet common in VALORANT, this approach has been implemented in other esports titles like League of Legends and CS:GO. Even Evil Geniuses, a renowned organization, currently houses 15 players for their North American Counter-Strike team.

Global Esports’ plan for a 10-man roster comes after failed merger talks with Bleed eSports, an Asian organization, for VCT 2023. Riot reportedly vetoed the partnership, leading Global Esports to focus on their own roster expansion.

Global Esports will compete in the Asia partnership VALORANT league alongside teams like Paper Rex, ZETA DIVISION, Gen.G, T1, DRX, Team Secret, DetonatioN Gaming, Talon Esports, and Rex Regum Qeon.
