Xtreme Gaming pulls out of PGL Arlington Dota 2 Major due to player’s visa denial.

Xtreme Gaming Withdraws from PGL Arling Dota Pro Circuit Major due to Visa Issues

Yet another Dota 2 competition is facing visa issues as Xtreme Gaming officially announces their withdrawal from the PGL Arling Dota Pro Circuit Major. One player from the team has repeatedly had their visa application declined, leading the team to make this difficult decision.

Instead of competing with a stand-in, Xtreme Gaming has chosen to skip the event altogether. Unfortunately, this means they will not be considered for a direct invite to The International 2022.

This Major would have been a significant milestone for Xtreme Gaming, as it was their first Major as an organization. Their inability to attend is due to the replacement event held in China after they were unable to travel to the ESL One Stockholm Major. This is a disappointing setback for the team.

Xtreme Gaming had a promising season, particularly considering they are a newly formed team comprised mostly of Chinese veterans. Their absence from the Major is a loss for the competition, further contributing to the series of last-minute changes in the 2022 DPC regular season.

Fnatic and Entity have also faced visa issues, with Fnatic opting to compete with three Valve-approved stand-ins. Entity may have to rely on TSM’s Timado as a stand-in for Pure due to visa complications. It is likely that more players from various teams, including Chinese, Southeast Asian, and European players, will encounter visa problems.

The PGL Arling Dota Pro Circuit Major is scheduled to take place from August 4th to 14th. Any additional visa issues or last-minute stand-ins can be expected to be announced within the next week as teams prepare for the event in Texas.
