TenZ and Sentinels halt Soniqs’ RO16 upset attempt

Sentinels Advance to Round of Eight in VCT Challengers 3 Open Bracket

Sentinels had a tough match but managed to advance to the round of eight in the VCT Challengers 3 Open Bracket. The standout performance came from Tyson “TenZ” Ngo on map three.

After losing the first map with a score of 13-7 to Soniqs, the reigning Master 2 Reyjavik champions seemed to be at a disadvantage. However, Sentinels bounced back with an impressive 13-5 victory on Bind, showing that they were not fazed by the previous map’s outcome. Soniqs, an all-Australian squad, couldn’t handle Sentinels’ dominance on Bind.

On Haven, Sentinels pulled off a clever spike defuse followed by an aggressive 3k play from TenZ using the Judge, putting Soniqs in a tough economic spot and securing a significant lead for Sentinels going into the second half of the game.

Despite Soniqs’ efforts, they were unable to overcome the significant lead that Sentinels had built in the first half of Haven. Sentinels ultimately won the series 2-1 with scores of 13-7, 13-5, 13-5. TenZ finished the series with a K/D ratio of 45-42, and had a positive rating in opening duels.

For Sentinels, this match showcased their famous adaptability and ability to overcome challenges. Soniqs’ performance demonstrated their improvement as a team. They are one of the few squads in the past two months to take a map off Sentinels, positioning them for a strong showing in future tournaments.

With this victory, Sentinels qualified for the closed portion of Challengers 3, bringing them one step closer to Masters 3: Berlin.
