NRG confirms Hazed’s continued presence on NRG VALORANT, ruling out alternative prospects

NRG Esports VALORANT player Hazed requests to be benched, explores coaching options

A representative for NRG has confirmed that Hazed will remain on the roster for the upcoming VCT.

NRG Esports player James “Hazed” Cobb has expressed his desire to be benched on the active VALORANT roster, according to sources. Hazed is also open to coaching opportunities. While the team will be left with a vacancy, it’s unclear if the roster will remain intact.

The former TSM player joined NRG late last year and had moderate success. Unlike TSM, NRG qualified for the North American VALORANT Champions Tour Stage One Challengers, which began on Jan. 27. The team fought through an open qualifier and secured a spot in the group stage.

In the group stage, NRG finished with a 1-4 record in Group B, just missing out on the playoffs. Although they lost to some top teams like Sentinels and Version1, they managed to secure a victory against Rise, who finished in last place.

Rise, 100 Thieves, and Evil Geniuses also failed to qualify for the playoffs. The playoffs will continue tonight with The Guard facing off against Cloud9. The winner of this match will secure a spot at VCT Masters in Reykjavík, Iceland.

NRG will be competing in the VCT Stage Two Challengers, which begins in May and concludes on June 27. With Hazed potentially leaving, the active lineup will likely consist of Daniel “eeiu” Vucenovic, Sam “s0m” Oh, Bradley “ANDROID” Fodor, and Ian “tex” Botsch.
