Team Envy loans Marved from FaZe Clan for VCT Stage 3

Team Envy Makes Last-Minute Roster Change for NA VCT Stage Three

Team Envy has announced a last-minute roster move ahead of the NA VCT Stage Three: Challengers One open qualifier. They have acquired Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen on loan from FaZe Clan, who will immediately join the starting lineup. As a result, Jake “kaboose” McDonald will move to a reserve spot.

Envy: A Dominant Force in North America

Envy is widely regarded as one of the top teams in North America and has had numerous successful runs in NA Challengers events, including Masters One and the Challengers Finals. The team made significant roster changes just a month after entering VALORANT in July 2020, replacing two original players with Victor Wong and Austin “crashies” Roberts after their departure from T1. Under the leadership of in-game leader Pujan “FNS” Mehta, the duo thrived, propelling the team into the top tier of NA VALORANT.

Marved’s Impact and FaZe’s Search for Replacement

Before joining Envy on loan, Marved was a key member of the FaZe roster that made waves in VCT Stage One. They went on an impressive winning streak, only losing to Sentinels. Marved, a former dedicated CS:GO pro, brought stability to a team dominated by former Overwatch players, playing a crucial role as a sentinel/controller.

FaZe has been reportedly trying out several replacement players for Marved, including 100 Thieves reserve Quan “dicey” Tran, Hunter “BabyJ” Schline, and V1 Reykjavík stand-in Jamal “jammyz” Bangash. While BabyJ is rumored to be the leading contender among the trials, FaZe is yet to make an official announcement.

Upcoming Open Qualifiers

Both Envy and FaZe will be participating in the open qualifiers that start on July 1.
